Emotional intelligence provides a road map for us to know whether we are on the right track in our personal and professional lives. Emotional intelligence is our guide for how we relate to others, and it can determine our success in managing conflict and finding our passion in life and work. This course will provide both an overview of emotional intelligence as well as provide a guide for how to address the issues creating conflict in your personal and professional life and the tools to face those challenges and find success.

Section 1 What Are Emotions?

This module will define emotional intelligence and provide an overview of how emotions exist in our brain and link to our behaviors. Emotional intelligence is both about the choices we make as well as how our interactions with others can influence how we feel. Emotions are linked to our thoughts and our actions, all influencing our behaviors and performance in the workplace.

This module will continue where the previous one left off with an in depth discussion of the remaining steps to emotional intelligence in the workplace.

Section 4 Emotional Intelligence at Work

There are many methods of increasing emotional intelligence in the workplace. While there is a lot to be done as an individual, emotional intelligence always involves a relationship with someone else. Building emotional intelligence at work requires both an ability to understand the self and to collaborate with those around you. This module will discuss how to build emotional intelligence in the workplace through empathy, collaboration, social expertise, and knowing your purpose.
